Trevi Fountain by Day and Pantheon by Night

Today we somewhat slowed down a bit because after 5 days, it’s hard to continue at the pace we were keeping! Plus our legs were definitely sore from the insane amount of walking we did the previous day. Our orientation tour took us to the Trevi Fountain and Spanish steps, which were some of the last major sightseeing spots we had. Obviously there is a ton more to see here, but we’ve been to the most popular/important spots.

We spent the rest of the day napping and resting before Melissa and I decided to do a little shopping in Campo di Fiori. We were wandering around looking at everything because right now is the time of “saldi”. Every January the majority of the shops have 30-50% off items for a few weeks.  It sure would be nice if American shops did this!

We were just window-shopping when we ran into some of the guys from our program- Will, Dave, Dan and Mike. Will and Dave came with Melissa and I to go get gelato (yup- 3rd day in a row) near the Pantheon. Sitting on the fountain steps, eating gelato, listening to the Italian street music and looking up at the Pantheon was absolutely incredible! It is definitely something I will remember for a long time! (many of the Italians get annoyed with the street musicians, but I love hearing the music as we walk along at night!)
